Premonitions
Telepathy or
Clairvoyance?
J.'s wife was pregnant with their
first child and everything seemed to be going well. He was required to
make a business trip to Europe. While he was in a meeting during his
business trip, he said he felt a sudden very strong feeling that he should
return home right away. He said the feeling was overwhelming. He tried
calling home and got no answer. J. said that ordinarily he would not have
felt concern that she didn't answer. He said she could've been shopping or
taking care of errands, but he sensed that something was
wrong.
Fortunately, most of his essential business was completed
and he was able to catch a flight earlier than planned. When he tried
calling from the airport, he still got no answer from his wife or her
parents. When he arrived back in town, he finally reached a member of his
wife's family who informed him that his wife was at the hospital. She had
suffered a miscarriage.
A Precognitive Dream
"Lisa" had a dream one night that was really a nightmare. She dreamed that her
cousin introduced her to a new friend of his, a slender young man. Then, suddenly,
her dream flashed to another scene. She saw a white car racing down the freeway. The
white car slid off the embankment and overturned at a certain area of the freeway near
a certain entrance ramp. She knew that the driver of the white
car was the young man her cousin just introduced her to in her dream, and that he had
been drunk. She knew that the passenger riding in the front seat in the car had been killed.
The passenger in the back seat was very badly injured. She could hear the sound of the car
stereo still playing.
Then, in her dream, she saw the body of the passenger in the front seat laying on
a stretcher and recognized the body as her cousin's. In her dream,
she screamed. Then she heard a man's voice say: "Tell him about the dream. The dream
is a warning to the young man your cousin thinks is his friend. He is a thief and has
done many evil things. This is a warning to him to stop what he has been doing." She awoke
suddenly, very frightened and troubled by the dream. She knew her cousin did not have a
friend who looked like the young man he introduced her to in her dream, but she was so
shaken by the dream she could not go back to sleep.
The next day, her cousin came over with a new companion. When he introduced "Lisa" to his
new friend, she almost fainted. He was the same young man she had seen in her dream. She
was so startled that she did not acknowledge the introduction.
After her cousin's new friend left, "Lisa" told her cousin about the dream. He said: "Well,
first of all, he doesn't have a white car. He has a blue car. And secondly, he thinks
you're really weird. The way you just stood there gaping at him." "Please, please," "Lisa"
begged her cousin, "promise me that you will never get into his car for any reason. Promise
me you'll never get into a white car with him. Or into any car he's driving." "Lisa's" cousin
looked at her as if she was a lunatic, but finally, he promised her he would never ride in
a car with his new friend.
About one month after "Lisa" met her cousin's new friend, her cousin came to talk with her.
His face was ashen. "You know, when you told me about your bad dream, I thought you were a
little weird. I mean, I thought you just had a wild imagination. But what you said came to
pass. My friend (he named him) never drove a white car. But last night he did. And there
were two guys with him. The car rolled and one of the guys with him was killed. The guy
riding in the front seat. The other guy, the one riding in the bank, got hurt pretty badly.
And it happened right where you dreamed it would."
Michel de
Nostradame (Notredame)
One of the most reknown prophets was a Jewish-born convert to
Catholicism and a physician/astronomer/astrologer who lived in the 1500's
named Michel de Nostradame.
Nostradamus was apparently notable for his ability
to effect cures by unique methods in some who had the medieval plague. It
seems Nostradamus was somewhat protected from the Inquisition by the fact that
he apparently couched his quatrains in difficult to interpret wordings.
Nostradamus allegedly used a
"scrying" mirror to see visions. Scrying can involve the use of a crystal ball, water, blood, other liquid, or a mirror to see visions.
Some people are convinced that the
quatrains Nostradamus wrote were predictions about the future and some
believe that he predicted the advent of Hitler and the Nazi Holocaust, the
assassination of President Kennedy, and the coming of World War III. One
of Nostradamus's quatrains was:
"The year 1999, seventh month, From the sky will come a great King
of Terror. To bring back to life the great King of Mongols, Before
and after Mars to reign by good luck."
Biblical
Prophets
Passages in the Bible tell of prophets and
prophecies. Jeremiah, Moses, Samuel and Elijah were regarded as prophets
(and so were Jesus of Nazareth and Mohammed). The prophetess, Anna, is
also mentioned in the Bible. The prophet Jeremiah apparently predicted
that the Hebrews would be overtaken by the Babylonians and be enslaved by
them for a period of seventy years.
Witches
The Bible
mentions the calling up of spirits and mentions witches. In the Old
Testament of the Bible, King Saul ordered the Witch of Endor to call up
the spirit of the Prophet Samuel. It appears that Samuel's spirit
predicted King Saul's downfall. Saul allegedly died in battle the day
after he consulted the Witch of Endor.
People suspected of
practicing witchcraft were persecuted and prosecuted in Salem,
Massachusetts in the 1690's. Tragically, twenty-one people were killed as
a result of the infamous witch trials.
In
the 1970's, Sybil Leek, a British-born self-professed witch became popular
for her books about astrology and various phenomena. One her best-selling books was entitled "Moon Signs".
Merlin (Myrddin) of Camelot
According to
legend, Merlin (or Merlinus) of Camelot tales was supposed to have uttered
predictions that invariably came to pass, and some believed that Merlin
was immortal. Merlin's name was reputedly originally "Myrddin".
Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote "The Prophecies Of Merlin" and claimed that
Merlin was the son of a human mother--in some stories, a British
princess--and a devil, but became good instead of evil the moment he was
baptized.
Sir Thomas Malory wrote "Le Morte d'Arthur" and in the
story the wizard Merlin reared the legendary King Arthur whom he enabled
to pull a sword out of a boulder at Branstock--a feat that no one else
could accomplish.
Mother Shipton It
has been said that British-born Mother Shipton (allegedly born in 1488;
died in 1561) made what many apparently thought were uncannily accurate predictions,
including prophecying the terrible Great Fire of London. Her real name was
thought to be Ursula Southiel. Mother Shipton's mother was thought by some
who lived in Yorkshire to be a witch who had produced Mother Shipton by
sleeping with the devil.
Some have pointed out that there is no absolutely
verifiable evidence that Mother Shipton actually existed.
Emanuel
Swedenborg
Emanuel Swedenborg (born January
29,1688) was a Swedish scientist who was considered brilliant. He apparenty was an
all-round scholar excelling in math, economics, physics, physiology, and could speak
many lanquages. When Swedenborg was in his fifties, he announced that he had visited
by God and been given the ability to communicate with the dead and to visit them in
the hereafter. Swedenborg allegedly believed that there are three heavens and three
hells. He had reputedly had visions of demons.
He also allegedly said
that the moon was inhabited by little people. But Swedenborg allegedly seemed to
have real psychic abilities.
In 1759, Swedenborg apparently had a
vision wherein he saw Stockholm burning when he was a couple of hundred
miles away from the city. Swedenborg saw in his vision that the
conflagration had reached very close to his own home. Evidently, Stockholm
was burning, the fire did reach very close to his home, and there were
witnesses to Swedenborg's prophecy.
He also allegedly claimed that Tsar Peter III
had been strangled to death in prison and it turned out that is precisely
what happened--and his prediction was made on the same day, a few moments
after the murder of the Tsar occurred. Witnesses verified that he indeed
told them about the death of the Tsar.
Emanuel Swedenborg died on March
29, 1772. A group of followers rose from Swedenborg's teachings--the
Swedenborgians.
Premonitions of the Assassination of
President Kennedy

Jeanne Dixon was born on January 3,
1918.
Mrs. Dixon claimed to have predicted the election of "a blue-eyed
Democrat" in 1960, our 35th president, President John F. Kennedy. She also claimed to have
predicted the assassination of the President that devastated the nation
and many people all over the world. (Photo of President Kennedy and First
Lady Jackie in Dallas)
Mrs. Dixon apparently predicted that the Anti-Christ
had been born on February 5, 1962 in the Middle East. She reportedly said
the world would know about him in the early 1990's and that he would be
destroyed by God in 1999.

Jeanne Dixon also claimed to have warned
actress Carole Lombard, wife of actor Clark Gable, that she must not make
any plane flights for a specific period of time in the future. Lombard was
scheduled to do a charity event and was not dissuaded from making the
trip. The plane she was in crashed into a mountain-side and everyone
aboard was killed.
Some believe that Dixon was an FBI stooge who received
information from contacts, not psychically. Some believe that she did not
foretell the assassination nor were the majority of her prophecies accurate. Perhaps Jeanne Dixon, through psychic means, knew who was responsible for the assassination, or, perhaps she was informed by her political contacts. Some believed that she was a genuine clairvoyant.
Jeanne Dixon died on January 26, 1997.
Irene Hughes Premonition of the
Assassination of Robert Kennedy
According to some
reports, psychic Irene Hughes predicted the horrific assassination of
Robert F. Kennedy, as well as his brother's assassination. Mrs. Hughes
allegedly told a newspaper reporter that Robert Kennedy would be killed.

The Aberfan
Premonitions
In Aberfan Wales in 1966, there
was a terrible disaster--a coal landslide that crushed a school. One
hundred-sixteen children and 28 adults were killed in the cave-in. Many
people reported that they had psychic premonitions prior to the actual
tragedy. Some said they heard the terrible sound of childrens's screams
days or weeks before the landslide occurred. Some said that they dreamed
of newspaper headlines announcing the coal slide before the
tragedy.
Abraham Lincoln's
Dream

President Abraham Lincoln apparently dreamed of
being killed by an assassin and of seeing his body laying in a coffin
before he was murdered.
Allegedly,
Ulysses S. Grant had been invited to go with the Lincolns to Ford's
Theater that night, but apparently Grant's wife, Julia, evidently had a strong
feeling that they should not go, so they did not accompany the Lincolns.
If he had gone, it is probable that Grant would have been assassinated as
well.

John Wilkes Booth was purported to have claimed
that he had intended to kill the President and Grant.
Read about President Lincoln's
dream about his death.
David Booth's
Dreams In 1979, David Booth of Cincinnati, Ohio,
apparently dreamed repeatedly of an airplane crash and the dreams were so
upsetting to him that he contacted the Federal Aviation Administration. He
allegedly recognized a specific airline's symbol on the exterior of the plane that
crashed in his dreams. Booth dreamed of the crash again the very day it
occurred--an American Airlines DC-10 crashed killing everyone on board and
some people on the ground. Sadly, as often seems to be the case with premonitions,
Booth warnings could not prevent the crash.
Beverly Jaeger's Premonition: The Space
Shuttle Disaster
Beverly Jaegers, a reknown
psychic and psychometrist, apparently predicted the horrific space shuttle
Challenger tragedy (left) and even envisioned the cause of the explosion
five years before the tragedy occurred. Jaegers apparently said she became
very psychic after being struck by lightening.
Edgar Cayce: Atlantis To Be Found (Off Coast
of Bimini?)
Edgar Cayce claimed remnants of Atlantis would be found.
|
Edgar Cayce
allegedly made many predictions while in his trance state. Cayce said that man can obtain psychic knowledge through what he called the "Universal Mind". He apparently
prophecied that there would be a shifting of the north and south poles.
Cayce made prophecies about the future, claimed that the lost continent of
Atlantis really existed, outlined diets for patients, and admonished
people to clean up their acts while in he spoke from the trance state.
Edgar Cayce said during his readings that evidence of the Atlantean civilization could be found in the Pyrenees, Morocco, the British Honduras, Yucatan, and around Bimini.
Allegedly, in 1968 divers found what appeared to be a roadway made of stone off the coast of Bimini. Some skeptics have stated that such findings could be natural products of the effects of the oceans waves, currents, etc., and are not man-made.
The famous Greek philosopher, Plato, was told a tale about the
lost continent of Atlantis. According to what was recorded by Plato and
written in "Critias" (and in Timaeus), the Atlanteans were a very technologically advanced,
prosperous people whose continent was utterly destroyed by a major
cataclysm. According to Plato, the massive continent derived it's name from Atlas, the first-born son of Poseidon and Cleito. The Atlanteans were said to control nearly all of the
Mediterranean region, except Athens. According to the tale, Atlantis,
located beyond the Pillars of Hercules and larger than Asia Minor and
Libya combined, sunk into the sea. Some have suggested that Atlantis was
Thera, Santorini, or once existed in the region of the Azores Islands. Some have suggested that Atlantis was actually the ancient Minoan civilization. Those who believe in Panagea (that all of the land of the world now divided into separate continents was once one huge land mass--that the continents fit like a puzzle-with a few missing pieces), have speculated that Africa and South America were once connected. Some have even suggested that Atlantis was part of what is now the
Americas. According to some of the tales about it, Atlantis was ultimately destroyed
because the inhabitants, though they progressed technologically, did not
advance spiritually. (See Mystical Places).
Some people believe that another legendary
lost continent called "Mu" existed in the Pacific ocean and was inhabited
by ancestors of the Mayans and the Egyptians.
The continent called
"Lemuria" was purported to be located in the Indian Ocean. The people of
Lemuria, according to reported tales, communicated only through telepathy.
Theosophist Madame Helena Blavatsky allegedly claimed that Lemuria had
once truly existed.
Prime Minister Winston Churchill's Psi
British Prime Minister Winston Churchill seemed to have a keen
sixth sense. Once when the Nazis were blitzing London, Churchill
purportedly told his wait staff that they must: "Put dinner on a hotplate
in the dining room" and then he insisted they go down to the bomb shelter.
Shortly after Churchill allegedly insisted that his staff leave, a bomb tore through
the back of the house completely destroying the kitchen.
In another
reported incident, Churchill was walking towards his waiting car--the door
nearest to him had been opened by his chauffeur so that he might get
in--Churchill walked over and opened the door furthest away and climbed
in. As they were driving along, a type of bomb exploded. Had Churchill been
sitting where he normally sat, the Prime Minister allegedly may have been killed.
Churchill was alleged to have said that just as he went to get into the
opened car door a voice said: "Stop!".
Famous Authors And Psi
Experiences
Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) (1875-1910) allegedly claimed to have dreamed of
his brother Henry's death before it occurred. Henry had been scalded so
badly when eight boilers exploded aboard the vessel the "Pennsylvania"
that the injuries were ultimately fatal. Twain was able to stay with his
brother until he died.

Writer Morgan
Robertson's story about "Futility: The Wreck of the Titan" may have been
based on precognitive awareness of a tragedy that occurred approximately
13 years after he wrote the book--the story paralleled the tragic
sinking of the Titanic.
Robertson wrote a tale about the sinking
of a fictional ship, the SS Titan. In the story, the SS Titan encountered
an iceberg and sank and hundreds of passengers lives were lost.
In the
book, the length of the Titan was 800 feet; the Titanic was 882.5 feet
long. The fictional Titan had 3 propellers, as did the real Titanic. The
Titan could hold 3,000 passengers. The Titanic apparently had a passenger capacity of
3,000.
The End Of The
World
According to some interpretations of
Nostradamus's predictions, the world will end after the millenium, when
the Roman Catholic Church is destroyed. (There is also evidence that Nostradamus believed the world would end in A.D. 3797).An Irish bishop named St. Malachy
(1094-1148) also apparently predicted that the world would end after the year 2000.
It has been alleged that St. Malachy's prophecies indicate that there will
be two more Popes--and no more--after the current Pope, John Paul
II.
The apocalyptic writings in the Bible and other Judeo-Christian texts
indicate that the world we live in is filled with evil and is
ruled by Satan, and that the world as it is will be ended, demolished by
God. Apocalypse adherents believe that a new age will be ushered in
wherein the good will live in a truly peaceful world after the reign of a being
who is called the Anti-Christ, who at first appears to be a savior of the people, but in
reality is like "a beast".
In the New Testament of the Bible, Peter
said: "Rather this is what the prophet Joel spoke about,
'This is what I will do in the last days, God says',
"I will pour out my spirit upon all men. Your sons and your
daughters will prophesy; Your young men will see visions, and your
old men will dream dreams. Yes, even on my slaves, both men and
women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will
prophecy. I will perform miracles in the sky above, and marvels on
the earth below. There will be blood, fire and thick smoke, the sun
will become dark, and the moon as red as blood, before the great and
glorious Day of the Lord arrives. And then, whoever calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved."
Acts 2, Chapter 2, The New Testament
Armageddon (Tel Megiddo) is
thought by some Christian sects to be where the last battle on earth between good and evil
will be fought. In Revelations, there are the Four Horsemen of the
Apocalypse: the Messenger of Subjugation, the Messenger of War, the
Messenger of Famine, and the Messenger of Destruction and Death. Some
fundamentalists believe that the founding of Israel as a nation in 1948 is
a clear sign that the Second Coming of Christ is at hand.
Some religions teach that the future holds the prophecies of the
Biblical Revelations and then the good will be transported into the
heavens. A New Jerusalem will appear filled with peace and joy, and the
evil will be condemned to eternal damnation. Other Christian sects teach that
the events in the Bible's Revelations have already occurred.
